Therapy Types
What Is Individual Therapy?
Individual therapy is a one-on-one therapeutic relationship between a licensed mental health professional and a child or adolescent.
Sessions are tailored to the child’s developmental level and unique emotional needs.
Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavior problems, or school stress, therapy offers tools to help them feel more in control and less overwhelmed.
Group Therapy for Children & Adolescents
Young people often feel alone in their struggles — but they don’t have to be. Group therapy offers a powerful way for children and teens to connect with peers, build healthy relationships, and learn new skills in a supportive, therapist-led environment.
Therapeutic Modalities
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Best for : Anxiety, depression, negative thinking patterns
CBT helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. Through practical tools and structured exercises, clients learn to manage symptoms and make positive choices in real-life situations.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Best for : Emotional regulation, self-harm, intense mood swings
DBT teaches skills in four areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. It’s especially effective for teens who feel overwhelmed by strong emotions or struggle with impulsivity.
Art and Expressive Therapies
Best for : Children and teens who struggle to verbalize emotions
These creative approaches use drawing, painting, music, storytelling, or movement to help clients explore their feelings, reduce anxiety, and express themselves in nonverbal ways.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
Best for : Children and teens recovering from trauma
Mindfulness-Based Therapies
Best for : Anxiety, stress, emotional regulation
Mindfulness techniques help clients stay grounded in the present moment, observe their thoughts without judgment, and respond to stress more calmly. We often incorporate mindfulness into other forms of therapy.
Parent Coaching & Support
Best for : Caregivers looking to support their child’s progress
We partner with parents and caregivers to provide education, tools, and strategies tailored to their child’s needs — helping to create a consistent, supportive environment at home.
