Carrus Behavioral Health

How to Make a Referral

Contact Our Intake Team

Professionals, parents, or guardians can call to discuss the patient’s needs and confirm program availability.

Scheduling an Assessment:

Every teen seeking admission receives a complimentary, same-day assessment to help determine the most appropriate level of care. Assessments can be completed in person at the Carrus Care location of your choice, or by phone if an in-person visit isn’t possible. Our team will promptly coordinate a time that works best for the teen and their parent or guardian so care can begin without delay.

Follow-Up:

With appropriate releases on file, you can monitor patient progress and collaborate with Carrus Care for ongoing treatment recommendations. When a patient completes their PHP or IOP program, a Carrus Care liaison will deliver the discharge paperwork to your office.

Admissions Process

Entering treatment can feel overwhelming for families, so we make the admissions process as simple and supportive as possible. Our goal is to ensure your child receives the right level of care in a safe and compassionate environment.

Initial Contact:
Families, schools, doctors, or mental health providers can reach out to our admissions team directly. During this first call, we gather basic information about your child’s needs, current concerns, and any previous treatment history.

Screening & Clinical Assessment:
Next, a licensed clinician completes a thorough assessment. This includes reviewing symptoms, safety concerns, and how your child is functioning at home, in school, and socially. The assessment helps us confirm whether PHP is the most appropriate level of care.

Insurance & Financial Coordination:
Our team works closely with your insurance provider to verify benefits and explain coverage. We review any costs with you up front so there are no surprises.

Admission & Orientation:
Once PHP is determined to be the right fit, we schedule an admission date. On the first day, families receive a program orientation, meet the care team, and review treatment expectations. Children and teens are introduced to their peers and guided into the structured daily schedule.

Family Involvement:
Parents and caregivers are active partners in the process. From the start, we include families in treatment planning and provide regular updates to support progress both in the program and at home.
